From Anji in Zhejiang Province, the town of dense bamboo forests and rich tea cultivation comes one of the rarest of all Chinese teas and a green tea connoisseur's delight - Anji Bai Cha which literally translates to "Anji white tea".
This tea is made from fine, select buds that are carefully picked and processed by hand.
Although it’s a green tea, the literal translation of it as ‘White tea’ refers to the appearance of the leaf and in the infusion, they blossom to provide a liquor of a translucent jade hue.
AnJi Bai Cha offers an invigorating pastel-coloured liquor with a distinctive piquancy. With the sweetness of orchid, spring blossom aroma, tangy and sweet flavours enhanced by vegetal notes with a lingering sweet mouthfeel, this beverage immerses you in a world of utopia.
The remarkable tea connoisseur of his generation, the eloquent Emperor Song Hui Zong (1101 to 1125 AD), noted this white tea plant as a unique and of exceptional quality of Tea.
An Ji Bai Cha contains four times as much Theanine as other green teas, which gives the tea an ethereal, tranquil quality, according to tea expert Chen Qikun.
