A black tea made of Camellia sinensis leaves, smoke-dried over a pinewood fire. Its name comes from Fuzhou dialect words “La” (pine), Sang “wood”, and “souchong” (small sort). Before the tea economy adopted the term “lapsang”, this tea leaf was referred to as “smoky souchong”.
Lapsang Souchong tea is loaded with antioxidants, which reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. It also contains certain compounds that enhance mood and brain function. And let’s not forget its moderate caffeine content!
